Sumba Overland Tour

Upon your arrival at Tambolaka Airport, our team will immediately greet and pick you up to start the adventure. Next, our team will take you to the Talasi Plantation factory. There, you will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the processing of agricultural products of Sumba, including cashew nuts, coffee, and various other prime local produce. After gaining valuable insights into the local agricultural wealth, we will escort you for the hotel check-in. In the late afternoon, you can enjoy the peak of the day’s beauty by watching the spectacular sunset from Pero Beach.

The second day begins by visiting Ratenggaro Traditional Village, a distinctive old Sumba village featuring rows of towering traditional houses. Following this cultural activity, we continue the journey to enjoy the coastal beauty around Ratenggaro, where spectacular ocean views are presented. Subsequently, we move to explore Wainyapu Traditional Village. Not only will you explore the traditional houses, but visitors will also see the unique megalithic tomb excavation site right on the beachfront. Furthermore, we proceed to the famous Weekuri Lake. There, tourists have the chance to swim in the clear and refreshing saltwater. Finally, after a full day exploring cultural heritage and natural beauty, we return to the hotel for rest.

After breakfast, the journey immediately resumes to explore the beauty of Central Sumba. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit Waikelo Waterfall. This destination presents a unique view amidst green rice fields, allowing visitors to experience maximum natural serenity. Next, we continue the journey toward another iconic waterfall attraction, namely Lapopu Waterfall. At Lapopu, visitors can enjoy the cool water flowing strongly through the tropical rainforest and take stunning photographs. To conclude the day, we head to Waikabubak to complete the hotel check-in.

On the fourth day, we start by visiting Praijing Traditional Village. After thoroughly exploring Praijing, the journey continues to the next cultural destination, namely Anakalang Village. In Anakalang, we witness the iconic and historic megalithic stone tomb complex. Then, upon arrival in East Sumba, we travel to Walakiri Beach to enjoy a spectacular sunset. You can capture the moment when the unique silhouette of mangrove trees is reflected against the twilight sky. Ultimately, to end the day, we have a delicious dinner, before returning to the hotel for rest and energy recovery.

The last day in Sumba begins with breakfast and check-out from the hotel. Then, you will be escorted to Kelu Village. Here, tourists have the opportunity to witness firsthand the authentic and valuable Sumba ikat weaving process, while also supporting local artisans. This experience provides a beautiful cultural keepsake. Finally, after gaining deep insight into Sumba weaving, we head to Umbu Mehang Kunda Airport for the transfer process and the flight home.
