Flores road trip 4-day program is an exclusive one-way journey designed to take you from Ende or Maumere to Labuan Bajo. We crafted this itinerary to explore the natural wonders of the Kelimutu Three-Color Lakes and visit traditional Flores villages that still uphold ancestral customs. Beyond witnessing the unique spider-web rice fields (Sawah Lingko) and the intricate process of Ikat weaving, you will also discover many hidden gems, including natural hot springs, traditional markets, and authentic cultural activities along the trans-Flores route.

Flores Roadtrip 4 Days 3 Nights
Itinerary
Day 1: Ende - Moni
We will pick you up at the airport or your hotel to begin your Flores road trip toward Moni. This two-hour scenic drive is the perfect introduction before we invite you to enter Jopu Traditional Village to learn about the noble traditions of the Lio tribe. You will witness the dedication of local weavers as they process cotton into exquisite Ikat fabrics by hand. After immersing yourself in the local culture, you can relax at your hotel to prepare for tomorrow’s dawn.
Day 2: Moni – Bajawa
Our day starts before dawn with a hike to the summit of Mount Kelimutu to capture the magical sunrise over the three-colored crater lakes. After breakfast and check-out, the Flores road trip continues toward Bajawa. Along the way, we will stop at Blue Stone Beach (Nanga Panda) for lunch with a unique coastal view. To conclude the day, we invite you to rejuvenate your body at the Menggeruda (Soa) natural hot springs before resting at your hotel in Bajawa.
Day 3: Bajawa - Ruteng
After breakfast, we will take you to enjoy the mountain panorama from the summit of Wolobobo Hill. The adventure continues with a gentle walk through a bamboo forest toward Bena Traditional Village, an iconic Ngada cultural center famous for its megalithic architecture. Before leaving Bajawa, we will stop at Aimere to witness the traditional distillation of Sopi, a local alcoholic drink made from palm trees. The third day ends in the cool highlands of Ruteng.
Day 4: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo
On our final day, we will mingle with the locals at the Ruteng Inpres Market, the largest traditional market in Flores. Next, we drive to Cancar to admire the Sawah Lingko, an agricultural masterpiece shaped like a spider web that reflects ancestral wisdom in land distribution. The journey then continues westward, marking the end of your meaningful Flores road trip as we arrive in Labuan Bajo.

If you want to have a fantastic time road tripping across Flores with an expert guide... you're in the right place! Filan was fun, professional, knowledgeable and had the best energy day after day after day! My partner and I had four days to get from Bajo to Ende and Filan took the time and care to get us there. He showed great skill driving and even follows Australian road rules by staying on the left and not overtaking unless on dotted lines 😉 Filan had a deep appreciation for his homeland and has connections across the island, he will provide you with great accommodation and is always willing to pause for a photo, toilet break or to share his knowledge of plants, animals, and local landmarks. If you're on the fence about going on this tour with Filan please let me nudge you in the right direction.. Great bloke, great trip, we would have Filan come visit Australia any time!Posted on Gabriel DietrichTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Filan was recommended to us by a friend. And now after the tour it's us recommending him to everyone else. We did a 7 day Labuan Bajo to Maumere tour. He designed a specific tour for us, according our wishes for adventure and authenticity. One of the highlights: he took us to his home village to follow a walking trail (look it up on Google, it's called Golorenda Walking Trail). His driving, his knowledge and his English were all perfect. Recommend!Posted on Inga AksamitTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent four unforgettable days exploring Ruteng and the surrounding area with Filan of Filan Travel, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Filan is a fantastic driver—confident and calm on Flores’ rugged roads—and his clean, air-conditioned SUV with seat belts was perfect for the terrain. He speaks excellent English, communicates clearly, and has a great sense of humor, which made every day enjoyable. What really stood out was Filan’s deep love for his island. A Ruteng local, he brings cultural sites to life and tailors each day to your interests. We visited the amazing spider rice fields, the Puu traditional village, the Liang Bua cave (home of Homo floresiensis), and a mission where women learn traditional weaving and coffee roasting skills. At our request, he organized a scenic hike through small villages where we saw daily life up close—including a woman harvesting and preparing palm fronds for mat weaving using age-old techniques. Each night, Filan took us to a different local restaurant, giving us a real taste of Ruteng. Our eco-lodge was also lovely, set in lush gardens with warm, welcoming staff. Filan picked us up at our hotel at Labuan Bajo, drove us to Ruteng the first day, we did cultural things the second day, hiked the third day and drove back to Labuan Bajo the fourth day. Filan’s knowledge, flexibility, and warmth made this trip truly special. Highly recommended!Posted on raffaele casanovaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wonderful experience in the true Heart of the Island of Flores with very good prices. And if you want in the tour can be included a visit tò a local school for a charity project involving the children. Also Filan helped us organize the tour in Komodo National Park by boat, he was very kind and available, so we definetely recommend him.
